Macron given huge domestic support after election

Emmanuel Macron, a 39-year-old politician and the leader of “En Marche” centrist party he formed a year ago, confounded political expectations last month when he became France’s youngest president. However, there have been concerns that Macron could face an uphill battle to pursue his reforms should his party fail to form a majority in June’s parliamentary elections.  But such concerns were short-lived as Macron's party and its allies have already managed to secure a clear parliamentary majority.

Russia objects to US military presence in Syria

The US is further deepening its intervention in Syria. Washington’s move to beef up its troops in the Arab country has increased the risk of direct ground confrontation between the American troops and Syrian troops and allied fighters. The US military has recently deployed its long range artillery which has a range of 300 kilometers in southeastern Syria. Russia has objected to the deployment of the artillery known as HIMRAS, warning the White House against targeting Syrian troops.
