Kevin Barrett, an author and political analyst, has hailed Iran’s missile attack on Daesh headquarters in the Syrian city of Dayr al-Zawr.

“This was a natural response to the terror attacks in Tehran,” the analyst told Press TV on Monday, referring to the attacks carried out by Daesh in the Iranian capital.

“It seems that the response has been proportionate and reasonable, killing the mastermind of the attacks and now launching the strikes against Daesh,” Barrett said.

The United States and its regional allies “are going to criticize Iran” for responding to Daesh terror attacks, because the Western powers see the Takfiri group as their mercenary to hit their enemies and destabilize the region, he added.
