Michael Jordan’s shoes set world-record price in auction

Michael Jordan’s game-worn shoes from the 1984 Olympic games have gone under hammer in California.

The dual-signed Converse shoes from Jordan’s gold-medal-winning game against Spain have broken the record set by another pair of his sneakers from Game 5 of the 1997 NBA finals.

The trainers have so far managed to fetch a record price of 131,000 dollars although the bidding won't close until June 10th.

What makes these sneakers so special is the fact that Jordan wore them in the most important moment of his career. Authorities say it was also the last time Jordan was seen wearing a pair of converse in competition before signing with Nike.
