Shabbir Hassanally, an activist and political commentator from London, said the timing of terrorist attacks in the Iranian capital, Tehran, after the presidential election and the anniversary of the demise of Imam Khomeini shows that enemies of the Islamic Republic have targeted “the system of governance in Iran” and its “democracy.”

Saudi Arabia, Israel and the United States are benefiting from such a heinous act against Iran, Hassanally told Press TV on Wednesday.

The analyst added, “Iran needs to take Saudi, America and Israel to the ICC and make a big deal about this.”

It is not surprising that the terrorist attack has happened in the capital of Iran because only recently Saudi Defense Minister Mohammed bin Salman and Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs Adel al-Jubeir had made threats against the Islamic Republic, he said.

“It was obvious Daesh would claim responsibility [because] they are the current boogeyman, the current brand of terror, but it seems to be ... MKO attack with Zionist support,” he said.
