Elderly woman travels via flying trough to cross river

A 78-year-old Ukrainian woman has come up with an innovative way to cross the river to the shops. She uses a flying trough.

The flying trough journey contains countless dangers, but this woman has been doing it for fifty years. She regularly makes the dangerous journey to fetch food and other goods from the local stores, because the path to the small village and its shops is blocked by the roaring Rika River.

The so-called 'flying trough' was built by her late husband around fifty years ago. The trough hangs from a rope stretched across the river and she pulls herself across the river sitting on the trough. It requires a lot of strength to operate, but it’s the quickest way to get to the village from her home.
