Borussia Dortmund have edged Eintracht Frankfurt 2-1 to lift the German Cup trophy.

Dortmund, who finished 3rd in the Bundesliga, enjoyed a strong start on Saturday. Thomas Tuchel’s men needed eight minutes to take the lead, when Ousmane Dembele wrong-footed a Frankfurt defender before curling his effort into the far corner.

Frankfurt got themselves back into the game some 20 minutes later, when Ante Rebic beat the Dortmund goalkeeper with a low shot to tie it at 1-1.

But, it all came down to Bundesliga’s top scorer Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang who chipped-in a penalty-kick in the 67th minute to hand the German Cup to Dortmund who had lost the three previous finals.
