Artist hides giant sculptures in Copenhagen’s forests

"Little Tilde," a sculpture hiding behind a big tree that sits filled with 28 different birdhouses.

A Danish artist who works with recycled materials, has made six giant sculptures around the outskirts of Copenhagen.

The works of self-described recycling artist Thomas Dambo are all part of a project called 'Forgotten Giants'. The six sculptures were made completely from local scrap wood and recycled materials.

The artist has also built 28 birdhouses inside the sculpture. The project has become a hit among Copenhagen locals and families looking for a fun adventure. The aim of this project is to bring art out of the museum and show the alluring nature of the outskirts of Copenhagen.

Every sculpture is made with the help of local volunteers, and each of the sculptures is named after one of the volunteers.

The artist hopes by crafting fun sculptures from recycled materials he can demonstrate the potential in materials often discarded or forgotten.
