Manchester United have notched up this season’s Europa League title following a 2-0 win against Ajax of the Netherlands in the final.
Paul Pogba fired Man United in front in the 18th minute at Stockholm’s Friends Arena on Thursday night. This happened when the French international drilled a low left-footed effort which flew past the keeper following a huge deflection.
Armenian Henrikh Mkhitaryan then doubled his side’s advantage early in the second half when he flicked home from close range, capitalizing on the Dutch team's sloppy defensive play. This was United’s second major trophy of the season following their League Cup triumph in February.
With the win, Jose Mourinho’s men also secured a place in next season's UEFA Champions League.
