Colin Cavell, a former lecturer at University of Bahrain, believes US arms sales to the Manama regime is contrary to the core principles of human rights, adding that prominent Bahraini rights activist Nabeel Rajab’s criticism over this issue “is entirely justified”.

“With the United States selling this rogue regime in Bahrain over 19 F-16 fighter jets for clamping down at citizenry, jailing free speech and getting rid of any type of democratic activities, this is rewarding Bahrain for the wrong efforts. It is a hypocrisy on the part of the United States and it is contradictory to everything the United States claims to stand for,” Cavell told Press TV in an interview on Thursday.
