Spurs beat Rockets in OT to take 3-2 series lead

The San Antonio Spurs have topped the visiting Houston Rockets 110-107 in overtime to take a 3-2 lead in their second round NBA playoff series.

The hosts led 32-29 at the end of the first quarter. But, the Rockets were in control of the second quarter which led to their 60-58 victory at the intermission.

Danny Green then canned a buzzer-beating three to give the Spurs an 86-85 lead at the end of the third. The visitors’ win in the final frame sent the game to overtime as it was tied at 101-101. Each team stalled at the start of the extra period.

Patrick Beverley hit a three-pointer with two minutes remaining for the first points of the period, giving Houston a 104-101 lead as they went on to win the game with three points at 110-107. Houston will host game 6 on Thursday.
