The Palestinian resistance movement Hamas has unveiled a new document that has created mixed reactions among political circles.
The document accepts the ideal of a Palestinian state along 1967 borders. Hamas says it considers the establishment of a sovereign and independent Palestinian state in the territories occupied by Israel in 1967.
It also calls for the return of Palestinian refugees and stresses on the movement’s right to armed resistance against Tel Aviv.
But what do regional and international media think about the new document? And how has it been interpreted among pundits and experts?
The Israeli daily Haarezt has viewed the new charter as a sort of domestic politics and the result of years of negotiations with the Palestine Liberation Organization.
