France has held a crucial presidential election. The far-right candidate Marine Le Penn and The centrist Emanuel Macron have headed to the second round.

The vote was seen as a crucial test for the popularity of Le Penn. She’s been a vocal critic of the European Union and vowed to push for anti-Islam and anti-immigration policies in France, if she’d elected as the president.

Yet Macron’s lead the first round is seen as victory for mainstream politics in France. And his eventual presidency would be interpreted as a big win for the European Union values.  But how do world media view the outcome of the first round of the French election?
