A photographer has cooperated with a NASA mission to take breathtaking aerial pictures of the Arctic Ice. Let’s take a look.

Photographer Mario Tamada participated in a NASA project dubbed the Ice Bridge to record the state of ice sheets over the North and South poles.

While undeniably beautiful, the pictures also portray the unprecedented retreating of ice fields caused by rising temperatures.

NASA as well as numerous other experts have times and again warned about thinning sea ice levels in the Artic.

Arctic ice levels have reached the lowest maximum winter extend in recorded history and is warming twice as fast as the rest of the Earth.
