Reigning MotoGP world champion Marc Marquez has retained his unbeaten record at the Grand Prix of the Americas in the US state of Texas, as he claimed a superb 5th successive win.

The Honda rider finished with a time of 43 minutes, 58 point 7-7-0 seconds to clinch his 30th career victory.

The triumph saw the triple world champion move up to 3rd in the standings. Yamaha’s legendary rider Valentino Rossi beat Honda rider Dani Pedrosa into second place which took the sport’s most decorated rider back to the top of the points’ standings after he finished on the podium in every race so far this year.

That’s while, Rossi’s teammate Maverick Vinales, who had grabbed the first 2 victories of 2017 in Qatar and Argentina, lost the championship lead after he crashed out early on Sunday.
