Horses are helping children to overcome adversity in the Australian state of New South Wales.

A therapy program aims to improve the confidence of young people while also teaching them useful skills in the paddock. The six-week program that puts the focus on mindfulness and rebuilding self-assurance.

Parents and teachers say they have noticed many positive changes in the children. Equine-Assisted Therapy is commonly used in Australia from schools to prisons, offering benefits for both the humans and horses involved.

The Equine-Assisted Therapy is an experiential modality for psychological intervention assisting in the treatment of emotional or behavioral disorders such as depression and anxiety.
