In the NBA, the reigning champions Cleveland Cavaliers have earned a narrow 109-108 victory over the visiting Indiana Pacers in the opening game of the 2017 playoffs.

The Cavs were the better side and grabbed the first three quarters, leading 92-84 before the last frame began. But, it was anything but easy for the hosts from this point onward as the Pacers clawed back and claimed the final quarter 24-17, cutting the deficit to only one point.

The visitors could’ve emerged victorious with 20 seconds left but CJ Miles failed to hit the game winner for the Pacers as his effort bounced off the rim.

LeBron James scored 32 points for the Cavs while Paul George finished with 29 points for Indiana. Game two of the best-of-seven series is slated for Monday at Cleveland.
