​Iran’s Persepolis claim Persian Gulf Pro League title 3 weeks earlier

Iran’s Persian Gulf league where Persepolis have posted a 2-nil victory over Maasheen Saazi at Takhti Stadium, winning the title with 3 weeks to go until the end of the season. 

The reds couldn’t have asked for a better start on Saturday, as they went ahead after just one minute through Ali Alipour. 

Persepolis then won a penalty after the break and Mehdi Taaremi stepped-up and fired the ball into the back of the net to put his side in a comfortable position.

2-nil the final score, and with the triumph, manager Branko Ivankovich and his men, have ended a 9 year wait for the title, with 3 matches to spare.
