Manchester United held by Anderlecht in Europa League

Manchester United vs Anderlecht

Belgium club Anderlecht have held Manchester United to a 1-all home draw, in the first leg of their Europa League quarter-final, in the country’s capital Brussels, thanks to a late strike from their midfielder.

The hosts started the game as the brighter side, but the Red Devils soon stole the momentum away and took the lead in the 37th minute when Armenian marksman Henrikh Mkhitaryan pounced on a rebound, ramming the ball into the roof of the net from a tight angle.

The visitors were in control of the game, but failed to make the most of their opportunity and were made to pay dearly when Anderlecht equalized in the 86th minute with a headed goal from Dendoncker.

With the away goal, Jose Mourinho's side, however, still have the chance of getting their job done at Old Trafford when they face Anderlecht next week.
