South Ossetia elects new president, OKs name-change

Georgia’s breakaway region of South Ossetia has elected a new president. The region has also voted in favor of changing its name to the Republic of South Ossetia – the State of Alania. The voting has received mixed reactions. Russia hailed the election while Georgia condemned it.
