Spains’ Maverick Vinales has continued his excellent start to the MotoGP season on Sunday by winning the Argentinian Grand Prix after compatriot and reigning champion Marc Marquez crashed out.

Marquez, who started on from pole on Sunday, was in front for more than two seconds over the opening laps before the bike went from under him and dumped him in the gravel.

This gave the 22-year-old Vinales the chance take the victory and become the first Yamaha rider since US Wayne Rainey in 1990 to win the first two races of a season in the premier class. Britain's Cal Crutchlow ended his day in third followed by Alvaro Bautista and Johann Zarco.
