On April 9th, 2003, the Iraqi capital Baghdad fell to US-led forces who had invaded the country under the pretext that the then-regime of Saddam Hussein possessed weapons of mass destruction. 14 years on, many Iraqis blame the US and its allies for helping the rise of extremist groups such as al-Qaeda and Daesh by attacking the country.
