NHL: Blackhawks thrash Penguins 5-1

In the NHL, the Chicago Blackhawks have dismantled the Pittsburgh Penguins 5-1.

Defending Stanley Cup champions, the Pittsburgh Penguins, hosted the Chicago Blackhawks on Wednesday night at the PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh.

Artemi Panarin and Richard Panik started the scoring for Chicago, before Marcus Kruger netted the puck to extend the visitors advantage to 3-0 with a minute to go in the first.

And just 39 seconds later Marian Hossa scored to open up a commanding 4-0 lead for Chicago at the end of the opening frame. And the 5th came through Tanner Kero, three minutes into the 3rd period.

The only goal for the Penguins was scored by Bryan Rust in final period of the contest. Chicago beat Pittsburgh 5-1 to send the Penguins to their 4th straight loss.
