Pakistan allows ex-army chief to head controversial Saudi alliance

Pakistan’s government says it has given the green light to a retired army general to head the so-called Saudi-led alliance of 39 Muslim states against terrorism. The decision has drawn strong reactions in Pakistan. It’s also expected to create more controversy as many there are against Islamabad’s direct involvement in Middle East affairs.
