NASA astronauts are strolling through the untamed vacuum of space to retrofit the International Space Station.
The crew members of expedition 50 are ongoing a series of spacewalks outside ISS to prepare it for upcoming commercial space taxis.
For the first 2 phases of the operation, the station’s commander as well as a flight engineer left the space lab and floated outside its airlock to upgrade the lab’s technology. 2 more spacewalks are expected in around 6 and half hours.
More specifically, the 2 astronauts will prepare the capsule’s docking system to accommodate commercial crew vehicle landing. The 3rd and last spacewalk is scheduled for March 30th and upon the arrival of a cargo ship.
