A man has been arrested and taken into custody for entering the White House grounds, while carrying a back pack, authorities say.

The US Secret Service said that the man breached security on Friday night and was arrested by the south entrance to the executive residence, CNN reported on Saturday.

The breach happened as President Donald Trump was in the White House, but there appeared to be no danger threatening him, the report said.

The agency did not provide information about the intruder’s identity, but said no hazardous materials were found inside his back pack.

A search of the south and north grounds of the White House complex found "nothing of concern to security operations," but the White House was placed under security condition "orange"—one of the highest levels of security for the Secret Service.

This was not the first time that a person entered the White House grounds. In one instance in September 2014, an Army veteran carrying a knife, climbed the fence and made it through the north portico doors, while the first family was not at the White House.
