Mexico Open: Johnson beats Isner 6-4, 6-4
Steve Johnson has also reached Round 2 of the Mexico Open, with straight victory over fellow American John Isner.
It was an all-American encounter in the 1st round of the tournament on Monday. 27-year-old Johnson only needed 66 minutes to outclass Isner in Acapulco, as he broke his big-serving countryman twice in the 6-4, 6-4 victory.
It was Johnson's 3rd straight win over Isner. He’ll next take on the winner of the match between Ernesto Escobedo and Stefan Kozlov.
