French left rejects coalition for presidency

France’s leftist candidates for presidency have refused to join forces in a broad coalition and will instead run separately. Observers say the lack of unity is expected to greatly aid the conservative party’s chance to win the election in May and might boost the chances of the far-right’s candidate Marine Le Pen.
