Democrats trying to tout Hillary Clinton as leader: Analyst

Myles Hoenig

The Democratic Party is desperately trying to promote politicians like Hillary Clinton as its “authoritative messenger,” but the fact is that the party is like a stranded ship controlled by the financial elite, says an American analyst.

Myles Hoenig, a Green Party candidate for the US House of Representatives, made the remarks while discussing Clinton’s message to her party following her defeat to Republican President Donald Trump in the November election.

Appearing in a video message at a Democratic National Committee (DNC) meeting in Atlanta, Georgia, Clinton also urged her fellow Democrats to “move forward with courage, confidence and optimism” after the party failed to gain majorities in either chambers of Congress.

The former US secretary of state, first lady and senator has kept a relatively low profile since losing the presidential election to Trump, although she has commented publicly on several occasions during the Trump presidency.

The party was looking forward to unite behind their new leader after a tight race between former US labor secretary Tom Perez and black Muslim Congressman Keith Ellison of Minnesota.

“The Democratic Party and its leadership is in disarray and is looking for a single voice,” Hoenig told Press TV on Sunday. “It is not going to find one.”

“The party establishment is doing everything it can to promote Hillary Clinton as its authoritative messenger,” he added. “It fears so many others that it will continue to prop up the one person who most personifies the moral decline of the party.”

Hoenig noted that there are many people who think they can lead Democrats at the moment but none of them holds a chance against Wall Street, the real leader of the party.

“The Democratic Party is a ship at sea with no captain and no port to call home. It is controlled by remote control on Wall Street with their lackeys, like Clinton, Obama, Perez, and others blowing on the sails. Their utter failure to understand the public’s animosity towards them and the Republican Party will certainly help them to devolve into an insignificant party over the next several years,” he concluded.

Former US Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders has called for a “transformation” of his political party to win more support among the American public.

“We need a total transformation," said the 75-year-old Senator from the state of Vermont.
