A city in China’s Hubei province is using a robotic traffic officer to target jaywalkers at junctions.

By stationing at crossroads, moving its arms and verbally interacting with pedestrians, this new technological robot is being used in public services to limit the common phenomenon of careless people crossing the road during a red traffic light signal.

Police say a strict droid will record the crossroad when the red light is on.

The robot's head is integrated with a camera, and the video shot by the droid will serve as evidence in case of accidents.
