A first half double from Serge Gnabry was enough for Werder Bremen to register their second consecutive win by beating Wolfsburg 2-1 at Volkswagen Arena.
The visiting side needed only 10 minutes to shock the home crowd when Gnabry opened the scoring with a deflected strike from inside the penalty area.
Eight minutes later, the 21-year-old winger grabbed his second goal of the night following a set-piece by controlling the ball on his chest six yards out before blasting it to the roof of the net to make it 2-0.
Wolfsburg did reduce the deficit back to a single goal through Borja Mayoral who bungled the ball in from close range following a corner.
