US-born panda Bao Bao has arrived in her new home in China, where she will join a breeding program.
The three-year-old giant panda landed in Sichuan province after a 16-hour nonstop flight. She was accompanied by a veterinarian and a panda keeper.
Chinese officials say the animal would be quarantined in a cage for a month before meeting visitors. During that time, keepers will monitor her health, diet, and activities.
The female panda was born at the National Zoo in Washington in 2013.
She is the 11th panda to be born overseas and returned to China as part of a breeding agreement.
