Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani has warned of Israel’s plots to infiltrate countries in the Middle East, saying the Tel Aviv regime is resorting to such divisive efforts to ensure its own “evil” survival.

Addressing the 6th International Conference in Support of the Palestinian Intifada (Uprising) in Tehran on Tuesday, Larijani added that the Israeli regime seeks to replace the main enemy with an imaginary and hypothetical one to spread the atmosphere of discord in the region.

The Tel Aviv regime is also looking for an opportunity to secure an “evil breathing space" for itself, he added.

He said the cancerous Israeli regime has intensified its pressure on the oppressed Palestinian people and increased its settlement construction activities in the West Bank and Jerusalem al-Quds in violation of all human rights laws and even the fragile treaties it has in the past signed off on.

The Tel Aviv regime on February 8 green-lighted the construction of over 1,000 new settler units in the occupied West Bank, a few days after the Israeli parliament passed legislation legalizing settler outposts built on private Palestinian land.

The Israeli Civil Administration’s Supreme Planning Committee had approved a total of 1,162 new settler units to be built on various locations throughout the West Bank.

Since the January 20 inauguration of US President Donald Trump, Israel launched a major expansion drive, which includes the plans for the construction of thousands of new settler units in the West Bank.

The top Iranian parliamentarian further emphasized that the Israeli regime is spreading insecurity in the region by supporting terrorist groups with the purpose of bringing internal attrition upon Muslim countries.

Larijani said all Muslim countries shoulder a heavy responsibility in lending full support to the Palestinian people at such sensitive juncture.

The 6th International Conference in Support of the Palestinian Intifada (Uprising) opened in Tehran on Tuesday with the opening speech by Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.

Around 700 foreign guests and representatives of pro-Palestinian organizations are taking part in the conference.
