Iranian midfielder Reza Shekari Qezel Qayah has concluded an agreement to join Russian professional football club FC Rostov, which currently plays at the Russian Premier League.

The 18-year-old rising star is going to sign a contract with the top-flight team after undergoing a series of medical checks.

Shekari joined Zob Ahan Isfahan Football Club in summer 2015, when he signed a 3-year contract with the Iranian soccer club. He made his debut for Zob Ahan in 2015–16 Persian Gulf Pro League fixtures against Sepahan, while he substituted in for Mehdi Rajabzadeh.

Shekari scored his first professional goal in a 2–0 Hazfi Cup victory against Persepolis on November 4, 2015.

He terminated his contract with Zob Ahan in February 2017, after appearing in only 11 of the club’s 21 games.

In 2015, British national daily newspaper The Guardian named Shakeri as one of the best 50 young talents in world football.
