Sadr supporters rally in central Baghdad

Thousands of protesters have descended on central Baghdad's Tahrir Square responding to a call by the influential cleric Muqtada al-Sadr. The demonstrators gathered to mourn the death of citizens who were killed in a similar protest last Saturday. Sadr and his supporters are demanding a complete overhaul of the country's electoral commission ahead of a provincial vote in September this year.
