Iran's Kayhan Kalhor ensemble wins 2017 Grammy award

Iranian musician Kayhan Kalhor won the best World Music award for “Sing Me Home” album.

International Silk Road Ensemble featuring acclaimed Iranian musician and ‘Kamancheh’ virtuoso Kayhan Kalhor has won a 2017 Grammy award.

During the 59th annual Grammy awards ceremony, the group’s album, ‘Sing Me Home’, wins Grammy for the Best World Music Album.

The group is made up of performers and composers from over 20 countries. It was founded by Chinese American cellist, Yo-Yo Ma, in 2000.

The group is passionate about cross-cultural understanding and innovation and has recorded six albums.
