People in Indian-controlled Kashmir have observed a shutdown to mark the 4th death anniversary of Afzal Guru. Authorities imposed strict restrictions to prevent anti-government protests and rallies on the occasion. Guru, who was a Kashmiri man, was secretly executed at an Indian jail after being convicted of involvement in a 2001 attack on Indian Parliament.
