Historical bathhouses of Iran

These are some of the stories covered in this episode of the Iran program:

Historical Bathhouses

A day at the spa is to rest, relax and spoil yourself a bit. Nowadays, some of us barely have the time to even think about it. But in the old days, when homes didn’t have private bathing facilities, everyone had to go to public bathhouses, not just for personal hygiene but also for what you might call a day at the spa.

The city of light

What you are about to see is a city in the north of Iran called Noor which means “light” in Persian. It is a part of the ancient region of Hyrcania. You got a glimpse of Hyrcania last week too, when we brought you the city of Royan. That feature is available to you online at the links we will provide you at the end of the program so stay put.

Persian Spices

In Iran, when we have guests, it’s important for us that they enjoy their meal. And I have to say, Persian food seldom lets anybody down. Aside from the main ingredients, it is very common for Iranians to add a little something to spice the recipes up.
