A US court has denied an emergency appeal from the Department of Justice to restore President Donald Trump’s executive order banning citizens of seven Muslim countries from entering the United States.

Trump signed an executive order on January 27 that imposed a temporary travel ban on citizens from Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen and placed an indefinite ban on Syrian refugees. The move also suspended admission of all refugees for 120 days.

The measure has created a global backlash with an increasing number of countries, including long-standing US allies, criticizing the curbs as discriminatory and divisive.

A London-based political commentator believes Trump is an “outrageous Zionist,” adding that the purpose of this travel ban is to set the scene for an all-out war on Islam in the Middle East.

“You look at Trump and you find that the people around him are all of them the most hardline and aggressive Zionists and the threats against Iran at this moment are all part of the Zionist message. So you see the bans on the travelers have nothing to do with actually protecting the USA. They are all to do with creating the circumstances in which Israel can quickly and suddenly move its armies and occupy the lands of others,” Rodney Shakespeare told Press TV in an interview on Sunday.

He emphasized that this ban does not cover Saudi Arabia which is “the progenitor, the great force, the philosophical and the financial source” of Daesh.

Shakespeare further opined that it might be wise for the Trump administration to scrap this travel ban given the constitutional matters which exist in the United States.

However, he said, at the end of the day, Trump and his acolytes are trying to create the circumstances “for a massive expansion of the Zionist entity” with the aggressive stances that they are taking.

According to the commentator, despite all claims about Trump wanting peace, he is seeking to wage war against China and he is pushing on behalf of Israel to create the circumstances for a war in the Middle East.
