Is Theresa May’s Brexit strategy too reliant on Donald Trump?

Prime Minister Theresa May has said the UK “cannot possibly” remain within the European single market, as staying in it would mean “not leaving the EU at all.”

Some feel that this emboldened speech by May may be a result of Trump’s rather hostile comments about the European Union and his rather positive remarks about a post-Brexit US-UK trade deal.

However, some commentators have warned the British Prime Minster not to put all of her eggs in one basket, as the trade deal with the US might not be as lucrative as she thinks.
