La Liga: Barcelona 3-0 Athletic Bilbao

La Liga champions Barcelona have recorded a 3-0 win over Athletic Bilbao with their star-striker Lionel Messi becoming the Catalans’ top scorer from free kicks.

Paco Alcacer got his first La Liga goal for Barcelona when he turned in a pass from Neymar in the 18th minute.

Then it was Messi’s turn to whip in an angled attempt in the 40th minute for his 27th goal from a free-kick for Barcelona, setting another club record.

With some 20 minutes remaining, Aleix Vidal took on several Bilbao defenders before firing home to seal a 3-0 win for Barcelona who moved within one point of La Liga leaders Real Madrid who have played 2 games less than the Catalans.
