Kyriakos Papadopoulos scored a second-half winner as Hamburg posted a 1-nil home win over Bayer Leverkusen in the start of round 19 of the Bundesliga on Friday.
After a scoreless first half, the home side almost took an early lead shortly into the second period when a superb back-pass from Nicolai Mueller found an unmarked Bobby Shou Wood, but his left-foot drive hit the crossbar.
The home side were finally put ahead in the 76th minute thanks to Greek defender Papadopoulos who headed home a right-side cross as Hamburg wrapped a 1-0 win over Bayer Leverkusen. Hamburg still remain in Bundesliga relegation zone despite the win.
