A wonderful spectrum of orchids is being unveiled in London during a festival aimed at celebrating India’s Independence from the UK.

While the Royal Botanical Gardens in London is an annual event, this year’s orchid festival is dedicated to celebrating the 70th year of India’s independence.

Botanists say this theme is particularly relevant since India is a major orchid habitat.

Apart from the exotic orchid display, Indian foods and plants are also exhibited in a market area next to adorned hawker carts.

There is even a flag of India made of chrysanthemums.

Visitors to the festival can also take part in workshops for Indian craft and yoga classes throughout the festival.

The Orchid extravaganza will continue until March.
