Australian Open: Federer thrashes Zverev to reach semifinals

Four-time Australian Open champion Roger Federer has swept aside Mischa Zverev in straight sets, to reach the semifinals of the tournament for the 13th time in his career on Monday night.

The 35-year-old Swiss maestro claimed a 6-1, 7-5, 6-2 victory over the German left-hander, in one hour and 32 minutes.

Federer has now won five matches in his comeback from a six-month injury break, and is now looking for his record-extending 18th Grand Slam title in Melbourne.
