Cafe in Taiwan keeps chicks for decorative use

The coffee shop owners thought the tiny animals could be a fun addition to their cafe.

The K Show cafe in the Taiwanese city of Hualien, has been in business since 2013, using chirpy chicks to cheer up its decor since a year later. The cafe’s first batch of chicks were found wandering on a mountain path by foreign customers.

The tourists gave the fluffy fellas to the eatery to keep overnight before transferring them to a shelter. But since they never showed up, the coffee shop owners thought the tiny animals could be a fun addition to their cafe.

They soon started raising their own fowl as a tradition, trading grown up chickens for newly-hatched ones every three weeks. They say customers especially get a festive vibe from the chicks, with the year of the rooster approaching.
