US tests world's first-ever driverless shuttle bus

The world's first-ever driverless electric shuttle bus, developed by a French company, has been tested in the US.

The first driver-less electric shuttle in the US has been tested in downtown Las Vegas. The oval-shaped shuttle, developed by a French company, can run up 40 kilometers per hour and has room for 12 passengers.

The shuttle implements technology such as GPS and cameras to detect its surroundings, pedestrians and traffic signs.

The vehicle has no steering wheel or pedals, only a computer monitor that allows its users to select the stop when they want to leave the shuttle. The company has other similar shuttles running in countries such as France, Australia and Switzerland.
