Spain’s Rafael Nadal has booked his spot in the 4th round of the Australian Open after squeezing past teenager Alexander Zverev in a 5-set thriller.
The 2009 champion fought hard on Saturday to overcome his German opponent. He lost the opening set before eventually prevailing 4-6, 6-3, 6-7, 6-3, 6-2 in an absorbing contest that took over four hours.
The Spaniard will next face France's Gael Monfils for a place in the quarter-finals.
