Thierry Neuville has maintained his overall lead, as Sebastien Ogier suffered a moment of drama at stage three of the Monte Carlo Rally.

Ogier struggled to turn his Ford Fiesta and hit a snow mound. However, the Frenchman recovered from the mistake to end Friday's stages in second position. Kris Meeke tried to reduce the distance with his rivals, but he was forced to leave the race after a crash in stage four.

Topping the standings at the end of Friday’s stage was Thierry Neuville who took the lead after a perfect day. He has a 45.1 second lead over Ogier following the eighth stage. Ott Tanak is third just 0.3 seconds further back. Despite winning stage three during the morning race, the Estonian lost the second place to Ogier.
