Kids in Thailand have celebrated ‘Children’s Day’ in a weird way. They have attended military barracks to handle real rifles and other weaponry.

Children were able to climb atop armored vehicles, Humvees, tanks and helicopters and got their hands on unloaded weaponry.

Kids were allowed to play with machine-guns alongside soldiers. Children’s Day falls on mid-January each year.

Officials believe the event is to highlight that children represent Thailand’s future. The strange celebration has provoked argument over whether pushing military involvement is appropriate.
