Brisbane International: Nishikori beats Wawrinka, cruises to final
Kei Nishikori of Japan has advanced to the final of the Brisbane International tournament by defeating Stan Wawrinka.
The 27 year old Japanese was bidding for a first final berth at the Brisbane with a straight sets win at 7-6 , 6-3 over his Swiss rival.
Nishikori took a tight first set in a tie break with a mix of powerful groundstrokes and well disguised drop shots.
Wawrinka though, had treatment on his lower left leg after the tie break and twice again in the second set.
