The 17-times Grand Slam champion, Roger Federer, has suffered a shock exit in the men's singles match at the Hopman Cup in Perth, Australia, losing to German teenager Alexander Zverev in his 2nd match at the mixed team event.
The 35-year-old Swiss is playing in the tournament after a 6-month layoff from competitive tennis. And he was ‘a fraction of his usual best’, and couldn't quite hold off the 19-year-old German.
Zverev managed to wrap up the 7-6, 6-7, 7-6 victory in 2 hours and 30 minutes. And, this was the 2nd time he has beaten the Swiss champ, having beaten him in Germany last June.
